The International Open University (IOU) is the brainchild of Dr. Bilal Philips. Our journey began in 2007 with the launch of free online Diploma courses in its Open Campus. In 2010, after just 3 years, the Bachelor of Arts (BA) program in Islamic Studies and Allied Sciences was gradually launched.

In addition, IOU started Global Qur’an Memorization Center in order to provide a unique opportunity for students across the globe to study the Qur’an online in English Language.

After successfully making authentic Islamic knowledge available in English, IOU established its Non-English Campus, offering its courses and programs in Bahasa, Russian, and Urdu Language.
