MATI UR REHMAN
MatI-ur-Rehman studied fundamentals of Islamic Sciences & Arabic at Quran Academy, Lahore under the mentorship of late Dr. Israr Ahmed (R.A.). Later on, he pursued his studies at Lahore Islamic University (Jamia Rehmania) whereby he took courses in various Islamic Sciences. He went to the University of the Punjab to further enhance his knowledge of Arabic where he completed his Masters in Arabic Language and Literature and then went on completing Masters in Philosophy of Arabic Linguistics. Currently, he is pursuing Doctorate in Arabic Literature from the same University.
Ustaz Mati-ur-Rehman have been teaching courses in Quranic Arabic, Modern Standard Arabic, Egyptian Arabic, Emerati Arabic, Arabic Linguistics, Stylistics, Prosody, Bilingual translation, Comparative Literature and Arabic Literature for twelve years. His teaching career began at Quran Academy, Karachi. Later on, he worked at Quran Academy, Lahore for seven years before joining Government Graduate College, Chunian as Head of Arabic Department where he stayed for two years. Then, he served as a Section Officer at Higher Education Department, Government of the Punjab for three years whereby he remained responsible for devising rules and regulations, recommending necessary modifications in operations, and monitoring overall performance of the state-run universities. Currently, he is working as Lecturer in Arabic at Arabic Department, Government Graduate College of Science, Lahore.
Besides, he has also offered various courses for Arabic learning to the students and general public in different universities and educational institutions, such as Riphah International University, Allama Iqbal Open University and Mohaddis Online Institute. Apart from teaching, he has also completed some translation projects, such as translating the book “Arabic Reader (A textbook for bilingual translation course (Eng-Arb) offered to the students of Masters in Arabic at the University of the Punjab)”.
